Recording in Indian Trademark Register

Trademark Publication Procedure

The application will be preceded for registration if here is no opposition or if the opposition filed is decided in favor of the applicant. Once the mark is conclusively approved as registered, the same would be entered in the Trademark Register maintained by the Registry. The mark will be registered and a registration Certificate will be received, for a period of 10 years, after which the mark must be renewed. The mark on registration achieves the owner the monopoly right over the mark. If renewal is not done then the mark will be removed from the registry. The importance of trademark registration is that if the mark is not registered, the registration by another user can block the expansion of a business.
